Sprites are image resources used in-game(Graphics). They are easy to make and easy to use as game maker has included a built-in sprite-editor. They are created by clicking the "Create A Sprite" icon. The picture below shows the location of this button. You can also "Right-Click" the sprites folder and click "Create Sprite."
After Clicking, a box will come up with details on the sprite. You can edit/create a sprite using the default editor or load your own sprites into the game. You can also edit masks with-in the box and other features involving your sprites.
Creating Sprite
To create a sprite you click "Edit Sprite" This will open up a new window that looks like the one below.
In the Sprite Editor, you can edit your graphics by using the designer and/or adding effects such as glow. To create a new image, you click the Paper in the top bar. The best way to learn how to use the editor is to use it. So open up the sprite editor and mess around sometime.
To open the Editor and Design your graphics, double click on the image you wish to edit.
This menu is easy to use, simply use the tools to create a graphics. Once you are done, click the check mark to get out of it. Click the check mark one more time to get to the menu you started at.
Finish Your Graphics
To finish, you simply name your sprite, set the mask, and click "OK." Remember when you are naming your graphics to add a proper prefix.
