There are several options that allow you to control the audio that comes from the game. The picture on the right is seen in game maker when opening a sound. It has several useful features to improve the quality in-game.
The Kind- Normal Sound: Used mainly for wave and midi files. These can be played with other sounds of different kinds or the same sound. Background music: Like normal sounds, but only 1 can play at a time. 3D sound: Sounds that have 3D properties. Use multimedia player: Sounds played through the multimedia player. The Effects- Effects can be added to sounds to make them sound different from the original sound. The best way to learn the effect, is to test each one. The Volume- The volume controls how loud the sound played in-game is. This can be changed to reflect distance in-game and other situations. When changing the volume through a script, the volume of all instances of the sound change. The Pan- Pan effects whether the sound is mainly on the left side or right side of you. Like volume, if changed through a script, all instances change. |
